OOAK Mermaid and Egg Almost Finished!

I am so close to finishing this project I can feel it in my blood! It is in the final stages. I am just posting pictures today, and will write more about it when I am ready to post the final pictures. When will I ever get back to tassels?!!! Soon, but I am thinking the videos may have to wait until June when my tech savvy son is here for summer. Enjoy these pictures...I will reflect on this project more imminently!

OOAK Dolls, Blossoms, and Time that Gets Away

I cannot believe it has been so long since my last post, I have been in a blissful state of busy-ness making dolls. The little polymer clay face I posted before has blossomed into quite a piece, but I am not ready to share her yet. It is a two-part piece wuith a decorated rhea egg that I want to post upon completion. Concurrently I have been working on my doll for the Ankie Daanen Dingle Dangle doll class and have finished the doll pieces, almost throroughly sanded. Tomorrow I will dress her and get close to finishing her. I have to sojourn to Michael's to find a wooden box for the base. I think she will be a chef. I still am not too sure. I know I want to make a very cool hat for her. Actually as I am writing this I think I was just inspired for a hat.

Dolls aren't the only think that are blossoming around this house. So many flowers here, none of which we planted but that we nurture all the same, all of which we are so proud.

OK I am going to get back to posting as much as possible. These days get away. Why do happy times slip away so fast?

A Day of Work on OOAK Dolls

Its an Exciting Day for Me and my Dolls

Hello out there...I am so excited to work on my dolls this morning. I am working on three at the same time, a little polymer clay mermaid, a big Dingle Doll doll for the class I am taking with Ankie Daanen, and a paper clay fairy that I have been working on since last September but she just doesn't want to behave. Later today I will post pictures of my progress. I have not forgotten about the web sites, and I know there are some who are anxious for the tassels web site to be functioning and loaded with my tutorials. I know! I know! But this is my chaotic artistic world and why I just can't live a "normal" life..."I flit, I fleet, I fleetly flee I fly", off to another interest. At least there is some cohesion to it all. Hmmmm....what was that cohesion anyway...

The videos for the tassel tutorials will all be shot at the same time, because this is how I must work. If I am distracted then there is no telling what will fill in the down time that will draw me away from the rest of the work for days on end.

Well tata for now. Once the videos are done and posted, then I will go "live" with the web sites and plug in to them with social networking. However for today, I am going to envelop myself in dolly bliss.

And if this weather ever clears up I am going to photograph my beautiful flowering bush. Why are those pesky wasps so bent on setting up shop on my patio?

OOAk dolls, The University of Kentucky Wildcats, and other Distractions

GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a fantastic national championship game last night. As a University of Kentucky alumnus and native of Kentucky, this was such a thrill.

The recent games and a three day hiatus of sculpting have left me both exhasuted and invigorated. I have an idea for a new egg/OOAK polymer clay doll project and am working full force on it. I sculpted one face but I think it is too big for the project as I envision it. Plus, I am taking a class with NIADA doll artist Ankie Daanen and I don't want to get any further behind, so a lot of work on that.

Tomorrow, however, it is time to start shooting videos for the howtomaketassels.com web site. I definitely want to see this vision a reality.

So back to the artists'table/workshop/video recording studio!
